The aim of the meeting was to enable members to recognise the aroma, taste, after taste and other properties of the six wines that are all 100% of the grape (that is no blends).

Alamos Uco Valley Chardonnay 2020


Mendoza 2020 is a very popular wine. The finish is influenced by the Andes eg sunlight and snow melt as it is made up to 5000 feet above sea level. There are tastes including ripe apple and stoned fruit.

Marlborough Sauvignon is big on flavour with hints of gooseberry, passion fruit and cut grass.

This is a quintessentially Chillean, big bold and fruity with a silky texture. It has flavours of cherries and plums with a hint of vanilla spice.

From the Barossa Valley this Shiraz is Australia's star grape. It is bold and full of dark berries with pepper and vanilla spice.

This Pinot Noir is a medium bodied wine from France. It is expensive due to the fact that it is difficult to grow. It is a smooth wine with tastes of raspberries and cherries and subtle oak.
